Sikulu & Harambe

I love finding new books for Lani and Wesley's home library. We borrow from our towns library often, but there is something special about being able to return to the same favorite book for years.

I was recently sent an adorable book titled Sikulu & Harambe. It is about two friends who help someone in need. There were many other animals who were given the chance to help, but each made some sort of excuse about why they couldn't. You will find out how Sikulu & Harambe are rewarded for their kindness and generosity. There is even a glossary of terms at the end of the book. It really taught Wesley a lot about the Zambia culture.

We have read this book several times and spoke about how we can take the lesson and use it in our lives. Lani in not quite old enought to get the lesson in this story, but she loves the bright illustrations and all the animals.
