Norton PC Tune Up review and giveaway

This review is going up a little late since I have been dealing with several viruses that managed to sneak through my virus protection software. I was able to log in to check my email and that was about it. My computer was lagging, freezing, shutting down, or just not starting up.

Luckily Mom Central invited me to be a part of the Norton PC Tune Up tour. I called them right away for the FREE tune up of my laptop. The agent I spoke to took a minute to set things up for me in case I needed to call back with another problem. John then "took over" my computer and began fixing things. He explained everything he was doing which was awesome so now I can fix some of things myself next time. Most of the process consisted of:

*cleaning up unused desk top icons (these can slow down your start up)
*cleaning out temporary files (I have over 2000)
*cleaning up disc space
*checking memory and hard drive space (I need more of each)
*recommending what I can do to make things faster in the future

At the end you receive what they call a "report card". This whole process honestly didn't do much to speed up my computer because he informed me I had so many viruses (spyware, adware) on my computer. I was glad that he made me aware of these since I had no idea.

As a warning the card says the whole process takes about 30 minutes, but I was on with him for almost 2 hours. So be prepared for this. You know, don't call them when you need to leave for the in laws in a few hours:)
