Weekend Roundup
Quick reminder about my book giveaway below! It's a good one and so far only 3 entries!
Another late Weekend Roundup! This week has been crazy with Michael getting an unexpected 3 extra days off (paid) before we head out for vacation. He is one lucky fella who will have like 21 days off!!
Our weekend was actually pretty relaxed. On Saturday we hung out around the house doing yard work and going for a walk around the lake. While we were there Michael found the smallest frog that I have EVER seen. We were basically wasting time until Wesley came home from vacation with Michael's parents. Wesley finally called to let us know they were almost to the house so we headed out to get him. While we were there I took some photos of Darbie's (Michael's mom) garden and pond. Her yard is beautiful and a perfect place to take pictures. I plan on going back when it is a little more sunny so I can use the natural light. The wagon wheel photo is my favorite but I had to take it at a weird angle because the pool deck kept getting in the shot. After getting Wesley we brought him home to see his surprise drum set from Joel. Soon we left to go mini-golfing and visit with Melissa and Joel. They had left some things at our house on the 4th of July.
On Sunday we headed out to the lake near our house with some friends and family. We pay association dues to use these lake so we love having people come with us to enjoy the water. It was a fun day despite Lani's incessant whining about this, that, and the other thing. I was finally able to get her in the water. I just kept creeping in a little more until her legs were in. Wesley on the other hand wouldn't even come out for lunch.
After the lake our neighbors came over for a little cookout. We still had a ton of food left over from the 4th of July that we wanted to use up. We just hung around chatting and let the kiddos make a mess of the yard with those confetti poppers that you use on New Years.
I will tack Monday onto this post since it was such a fun day!! My Aunt Carol took us to Storyland up in the mountains of New Hampshire. It was HOT, but Wesley and Lani both did awesome. Wesley even went on rides this year that he was too afraid to go on before. I was shocked when he wanted to go on by himself a few times. I think he felt cool because he was finally tall enough to do so. I went on a lot of rides with Lani because Michael gets sick on spinny rides. I was nervous the first time that we were going to have to stop the ride but she was laughing.
I have a TON of photos over on my Flickr in case you want to see more. Just click on any of the photos and it will take you over there.
