Random weekend happenings

Sometimes I forget to blog certain things because I mention them on Facebook and Twitter. I realize that not all of my readers use those. Especially the family from Virginia:) I've decided that I really need to start doing a weekend recap. Even though most of our "winter weekends" are quite boring.

On Friday I brought Lani to the doctors because of an annoying dry cough and runny nose that was keeping her awake. She ended up having a double ear infection. What? Not sure where that came from. This was her first ear infection ever. The antibiotic worked great and she is already feeling much better. He thought the cough was her trying to relieve the pressure in her ears. Hmmm....

On Saturday I lazed around since Michael was working and I had no plans. We did go to a birthday party for another little Laney for a few hours. I wanted to take my camera to get some good photos for Hilary and Jason (parents), but I spaced it.

Sunday was much more exciting. We went to my nieces indoor soccer game. WOW! It was much more intense then any of her outdoor ones. Wesley has now decided that he wants to play:) I didn't even bother taking pictures since there was plastic protecting us and I never would have been able to get any good ones.

Monday was my first time taking Lani and Alex to a toddler play group. My friend Michelle runs it at a local child care center. It was a ton of fun and we'll definitely be going back. There was a circle time where we sang a "Welcome" song. We did some finger plays, and some movement activities. After that was snack and free play. Lani did so well and even walked away from me for a few minutes, lol! This is a great introduction to preschool for her. Not only is she getting the socialization, but she is learning about having a schedule of activities. For the rest of the days she was singing "goodbye Lani, goodbye Lani". It was part of the "goodbye song" they sang at the end. A lot of the parents knew each other and chatted, but I just kind of kept to myself. I don't know why I do that, but that's just how I am.
